What is the Professional Speakers
Guild?
The Professional
Speakers Guild is
designed to be a resource for those who are, or would like
to be, involved in the speaking, consulting or training
industry. It is especially valuable to meeting planners who
want to find professional speakers for their events.
Professional Speakers Guild does
not charge
any commission to speakers or meeting planners for
contacting each other through our organization.
The Professional
Speakers Guild site
is a place for those seeking trainers, speakers or
consultants to be able to search by key word for the right
person to fill the assignment and then go directly to the
speaker without having to deal with an agent. We also
provide members an opportunity to ask each other questions
and share information, and publish articles. The driving
force behind what we do is to serve the needs of our
membership.
Your investment to join is $100 per year starting with the
month you submit your application. At the bottom of the
membership application, there is a section for applicants to
include the name of the person referring them to Professional
Speakers Guild. That
person, if he or she is a member, will receive a credit of
$10 per member that they sponsor against their next
membership renewal.
If you, as a visitor to this site, have ideas for services
that would make it more valuable, we solicit your comments
in our "Contact Us" section.
Our History:
The Professional
Speakers Guild was
formed in 1986 by professional speaker William
N. Hodges who
invited several other consultants and speakers to join him
in a confederation of presenters, committed to helping each
other to grow - not only professionally but also
economically. Over the years it has become apparent that
many people in the speaking and consulting areas were not
being served effectively by existing organizations, and the Professional
Speakers Guild was
opened to the industry as a whole.
Our
current President, Gary
Mull, is a professional speaker and trainer, based in
Tampa, FL. Gary has been a long-time member of the
Professional Speakers Guild, and most recently, has served
as the organization's webmaster.
Some of his other activities include service in the United
States Coast Guard Auxiliary, and as International Director
for Toastmasters International. |
